"I heard about Persona Jewelry while doing some initial research online and all of the reviews I read were extremely positive. I lived in the area and decided to check it out. Walking in that day, I was as clueless as a guy could possibly be. I didn't really know anything about custom designed rings. All I knew was what Elaine didn't want, so I figured I would stay away from that and just get the biggest ring I could afford. Seemed simple enough. Well, after 30 minutes in the store, I realized that there was a whole lot more that I should consider. I absorbed a pretty healthy education and felt a little overwhelmed. Gary, Marisa and Margarita were extremely helpful, and patient, and suggested that I come back with my girlfriend to get a better sense of what she wanted. I initially wanted to get the ring on my own and surprise her out of the blue, but I realized I would be better off involving her in the process and getting her input. I returned to the store a few weeks later with Elaine, and had a great experience. Elaine absolutely loved the style and customization that Persona offered. Again, everyone was amazingly helpful and friendly. We had a blast as Elaine tried on several rings of various styles until she found the one she wanted. I came back a few weeks later to pick up the ring, but hadn't finalized a plan for my proposal. I figured I would do it in January, after the holidays, so I could plan something special. After discussing my options with everyone, however, I decided that a spontaneous proposal right before the holidays would be amazing. Margarita, in fact, told me I was insane if I didn't do it before the holidays so we could celebrate with our families for the following week.

I ended up proposing the next day. We used to live on Comm Ave in the Back Bay, and Elaine always loved the way the mall in the middle was all lit up in the winter. We took a walk through the Public Gardens and down Comm Ave, and I popped the question in between Clarendon and Dartmouth, close to where we used to live. Elaine knew I was going to ask her to marry me, but didn't know when. She was definitely a little shocked when I got down on one knee, and I succeeded in surprising her. We kicked off the celebration with an amazing dinner and met up with close friends later in the evening. And Margarita was right. Celebrating our engagement over the holidays was amazing and our families enjoyed every minute of it.
